Former Premier League player, Darren Bent, has said that Chelsea have shocked him with how poor they have been this season.
The Blues have suffered two defeats, recorded one draw and managed a win against lowly rated Luton.
The former England international said that he expected much from the big-spending Blues who invested heavily in what was already an expensively assembled squad.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star was asked for his biggest surprise of the season so far.
He told Sky Sports, “From my perspective the surprise would probably be Chelsea.
“I thought they’d be a lot better. They’ve shocked me how poor they’ve been. I thought with Pochettino and the amount of players they signed they would be up there competing for the top four.
“The fact that they’re so far off and the performances they’ve put in that really surprised me.
“I thought once they got the manager in, Pochettino knows how to work with a new squad, the success he had at Spurs,
“I just thought he’d be the final piece of the jigsaw to get them to where they want to get.
The fact they’ve been so far off tells me there’s more problems than we first thought. They’ve surprised me the most, I thought they’d be better than they are.”
