Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has insisted that Antony’s imminent arrival will not affect Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club.
Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, as he seeks to compete in the Champions League this season.
But with the transfer window set to close on Thursday, it appears the 37-year-old will be forced to remain with the Red Devils.
When asked whether the arrival of Antony from Ajax would restrict Ronaldo’s game-time at Manchester United, Ten Hag said: “It’s clear, of course [Ronaldo is still part of the plans].
“We need quality players, and you need more to cover all of the games and to keep our consistency going. That is what we strive for.”
