Liverpool defeated Manchester City 1-0 at home on Sunday thanks to excellent execution of a well-thought-out game plan.
The burden was on the Reds to keep from falling as far behind their opponents, who had been dominant before visiting Anfield and could’ve established such a massive margin with a win, since they had had a very difficult start to their Premier League season.
As the game neared its conclusion, City desperately tried to score an equalizer, but Liverpool held on to secure a commanding victory that was only somewhat tarnished by Jurgen Klopp’s red card and the painful image of Diogo Jota being stretchered out in stoppage time.
