EPL: Michael Owen names club to have best midfield pairing in Premier League this season

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has said that Chelsea will have the best midfield pairing in the Premier League if they succed in signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

Brighton are holding out for a British record transfer fee for their midfielder and Chelsea are not relenting in their push to add him to their squad this summer transfer window.

And Owen, a former Real Madrid man thinks that the Ecuador international can form a stunning partnership with Enzo Fernandez.

Owen wrote on social media, “Decent game this. Both teams had their moments,” after watching Chelsea play out a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. 

“Enzo Fernandez is putting on an exhibition. If Caicedo joins him at Chelsea, that’ll be the best midfield pairing in The Premier League.”

Luis Diaz netted for Liverpool while Axel Disasi got on the scoresheet for Chelsea.
