Mason Mount has posted a farwell message to Chelsea supporters ahead of his move to Manchester United.
Mount has been with the Blues since 2005, but he is now heading to Old Trafford in a £60million move after undergoing his medical at Carrington.
Given his strong connection with Chelsea, the 24-year-old felt that it was important to address the club’s fans in a video message.
Mount reflected on some of the highlights of his time at Chelsea, including winning the Champions League in 2021. He described his move to United as being right for him at this stage of his career.
Speaking on Instagram, Mount said: ‘Hi Chelsea fans, given the speculation over the last six months, this may not come as a surprise to you. But it doesn’t make it any easier to tell you I’ve made the decision to leave Chelsea.
‘I feel you deserve more than just a written statement so I wanted to tell you directly how grateful I’ve been for all of your support over the last 18 years.
‘I know some of you won’t be happy with my decision but it’s what’s right for me at this moment in my career.’
