EPL: Late Eze goal seals 3 points for Crystal Palace

In a fiercely contested Premier League match on Sunday at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace, came from behind to defeat Leeds United.

Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze’s goals offset Pascal Struijk’s opening goal to give Palace all three points and move them up to 15th place in the standings.

At Selhurst Park, the visitors came out strong and deservedly took the lead right away thanks to Pascal Struijk. Brenden Aaronson manoeuvred around three Palace defenders and struck the post before the full-back grabbed a loose penalty in the area.

Following that, Leeds continued to control the game, and Palace found it extremely difficult to keep possession or pose a threat in the attacking third. Tyler Adams put Patrick Bamford through on goal in the 20th minute, giving Jesse Marsch’s team a chance to go up by two goals. However, the English forward’s subsequent goal-bound attempt was unsuccessful in getting past Vicente Guaita.

Odsonne Edouard, a former Celtic player, scored an equaliser a few minutes later, making Bamford and Leeds pay for their errors. In an unexpected turn of events, the forward levelled the score with a goal from a superb set piece delivery by Michael Olise.

At the start of the second half, Palace stepped up their game and started to move the ball around with much more assurance.
