Everton manager, Frank Lampard, has broken his hand while celebrating Alex Iwobi’s late winner against Newcastle United on Thursday night.
The Super Eagles midfielder struck in added time as the Toffees clinched a morale-boosting 1-0 win at Goodison Park.
Lampard had watched on as his side struggled to break down the visitors and create chances.
Everton also had Allan sent off for a tackle on Allan Saint-Maximin in the second half.
But a brilliant run and one-two with Dominic Calvert-Lewin saw Iwobi score in the 99th minute, sparking jubilant scenes.
Lampard was as delighted as anyone in the dugout, fist-pumping and grabbing his players, but picked up an injury in the process.
He told Amazon Prime: “I’ve broken my hand by the way in the celebrations. I’ve got the shakes!
“I’ll take it for the three points! It was in the celebrations for the goal. I didn’t realise at the time and then as the game carried on I was like, “Woah”. I’m a bit sore there now and a bit shaky, but it’s fine.”
