Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey will miss key fixtures against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur during his injury layoff.
The Ghana international has been ruled out of six weeks with a groin problem.
The 30-year-old is believed to have picked up the knock in training on Thursday.
Partey already missed the 3-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday.
Neither the club or manager Mikel Arteta have placed a real timeframe on his return.
‘I don’t know,’ Arteta said of his midfielder. ‘Unfortunately he got an injury in training and it doesn’t look good, we need some more tests, we believe he’s going to be out for weeks.’
‘We think it’s a groin but can be something in between.’
