EPL: Ivan Toney reveals two forwards he admires so much

Ivan Toney

Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, has acknowledged his admiration for fellow forwards Didier Drogba and Harry Kane.

Prior to their September Nations League games, Gareth Southgate called the Bees talisman for the first time into the England camp.

In addition to the 12 goals he scored last season, Toney has already scored five in the Premier League this year for Brentford.

The 26-year-old was asked who strikers he looked up to during a news conference on his first day at England’s St. George’s Park training facility, and he mentioned Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Chelsea star Didier Drogba.

“I like a lot of strikers. I do like Harry Kane – when he gets a chance, nine times out of ten it’s in the back of the net,” Toney replied.

“I like the likes of Didier Drogba, I like to play his game sometimes, [he] put his body around, good in the air, in behind, finishing.

“But I kind of watch all strikers and just try and take tips from all strikers that have been involved in the game at the highest level and bring it into my game.”
