Former Tottenham star Darren Bent has issued a warning to Chelsea ahead of the upcoming season.
The former England star wants the Blues to understand that they cannot rely on their goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
He believes that the Spaniard cannot stand as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper for the entire season.
Kepa moved to Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao for €80 million in 2018.
He was signed as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois who had joined Real Madrid.
The Spain International was the first choice at Stamford Bridge until Frank Lampard was appointed as manager and decided to sign Edouard Mendy from Stade Rennais in 2020.
Mendy left the club for Al-Ahli this summer boosting Arrizabalaga’s chances of being the undisputed starter.
“He (Kepa) hasn’t been good enough,” Bent told talkSPORT.
“He had a period where it felt like every shot on target from everywhere was going in.
“I still don’t think you can rely on Kepa for a full season.”
