Gareth Bale has said he is expecting to return to Real Madrid this summer after his one-year loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur ends.
The Welsh winger will still have year left on his £31million-a-year contract with the LaLiga giants at the end of this season.
“There’s no distraction for me. I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost.
“Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid.
“My plan is to go back – that’s as far I have planned,” Bale said.
Bale has had mixed fortunes since returning to Spurs during the summer window.
After initially struggling for a regular spot under Jose Mourinho, the 31-year-old scored five goals in a four-game spell between February and March before he was dropped for Sunday’s 2-0 win at Aston Villa, having featured in the humiliating Europa League defeat by Dinamo Zagreb.
