In gameweek 6, some questionable refereeing decisions prevented us from seeing some absolute world-beaters.
While Philippe Coutinho was denied what could have been an incredible victory for Aston Villa over Manchester City by a flag-happy linesman, Alexis Mac Allister scored a thunderous goal against Leicester but had his fun cut short by VAR.
In the most recent round of Premier League action, there were fortunately still plenty of fantastic goals for us to enjoy, so let’s dive in to the best ones – ranked!
1. Alexis Mac Allister vs Leicester
2. Ivan Toney vs Leeds
3. Philip Billing vs Nottingham Forest
The game between Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, in which the latter team blew a two-goal lead and lost 3-2, was one of the weekend’s most entertaining matches.
Philip Billing’s scorcher served as the catalyst for Bournemouth’s comeback.
Before you could even process what was happening, the big man lined up a shot at the edge of the box and absolutely ripped it into the top corner.
4. Aleksandar Mitrovic vs Tottenham
5. Ivan Toney vs Leeds
6. Luis Sinisterra vs Brentford
By scoring a goal against Brentford with a finish that exuded class, Luis Sinisterra gave Leeds what appeared to be a lifeline.
The summer signing gained some space after flicking over a defender and ran on to the ball to deliver a pin-point low drive that left Illan Meslier helplessly stumbling.
Sinisterra’s goal appears to be one that will go unnoticed given that Leeds would ultimately lose 5-2.
