London has been placed into Tier 3 of coronavirus restrictions – meaning the capital’s six Premier League clubs will once again be forced to play home games behind closed doors.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham had all welcomed up to 2,000 fans back for their latest top-flight home games after London was initially placed under Tier 2 restrictions.
But, following Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s announcement that the capital would go into Tier 3 from Wednesday, there will be only four clubs in the Premier League allowed to admit fans.
Liverpool, Everton, Brighton and Southampton are the only sides that remain under Tier 2 restrictions, though others, such as Manchester United and Manchester City, will be hoping they are freed from the shackles of Tier 3 later this week.
