Erik ten Hag lauded new signing Antony after the winger scored on his debut in Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Sunday.
The £85.5 million signing from Ajax was introduced right into the starting lineup and gave United the lead in the 35th minute after intercepting a pass from Marcus Rashford and firing past Aaron Ramsdale.
Cristiano Ronaldo replaced him just before the hour mark, and Bukayo Saka quickly equalised before Rashford’s two goals put the game to rest.
Speaking on new signing Antony, Ten Hag revealed: “You can see all of his potential.
“He will be a threat in the Premier League. We were missing a player on the right wing. [Jadon] Sancho and [Marcus] Rashford can play there but they prefer the left so now we have the missing link who can play well on the right.
“We needed that on the right wing with his pace and dribbles and expression. It (the Premier League) is going to be a challenge for him but we saw his potential. We have to keep pushing. I set high standards every day. Everyone has to bring it every day to Carrington.”
