Former Manchester City midfielder, David Silva, has named the only club capable of challenging Pep Guardiola’s side for the Premier League title this season.

According to him, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are the club that could chase  City’s toe to toe.

The Gunners thought they would end their 19-year wait to win the Premier League title last season but a poor end to the campaign saw them finish five points behind City

Arsenal have made 3 wins and a draw in their opening four games. Silva believes Arteta’s side will run City close again this season.

“They [City] have an amazing team with some amazing players,” Silva told The Mirror.

“This is Pep’s eighth season at City. The first year he was getting used to the Premier League, but now they are almost unstoppable.

“Arsenal are the only team I can see who maybe have a chance of challenging City. The rest? I don’t think they can.

“I watched nearly all of City’s games in the Champions League last season, I couldn’t win it when I was there, but I’m so happy for the club that they were finally able to do it.

They deserve it. The club deserves it, the supporters deserve to win the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup – the Treble. It was an amazing achievement.”
