EPL: Darwin Nunez finally speaks on red card vs Crystal Palace

Joachim Andersen reports abusive messages to police after Darwin Nunez red card

Darwin Nunez has expressed regret for his “ugly attitude” and a red card on Monday night’s shocking 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Anfield.

After head-butting Palace defender Joachim Andersen early in the second half, the £85m signing was given his marching orders in his first ever start for the Reds. The forward will miss three domestic games because the headbutt qualified as violent conduct, but the FA may view the video and decide to lengthen Nunez’s suspension.

Nunez has since apologised and vowed that such behaviour wouldn’t happen again on Twitter in response to the incident: “I am aware of the ugly attitude I had. I’m here to learn from my mistakes and it won’t happen again.”
