Former France international, Claude Makelele, has left his position as a youth team coach at Chelsea.
Makalele on Thursday evening, said he and the club have reached a mutual agreement for him to move on.
The defensive midfielder played over 200 games for the Blues during his playing days and returned to the club in 2019 to take up the technical mentor and youth coach position.
The Frenchman, now 50, is now the latest figure to leave Stamford Bridge since the club’s takeover last summer.
The former France midfielder, in a statement on X, said, “After four fulfilling years, Chelsea and I decided, by mutual consent, that it is time for me to seek a fresh, new challenge.
“I do want to thank the fans for their affection. Blue will always be the colour of my heart, I will share more once I have set my mind on the next chapter.”
