EPL: Chelsea provide N’Golo Kante injury update

N'Golo Kante injury update

Chelsea have confirmed that N’Golo Kante has undergone surgery to treat a hamstring injury and will be out for four months.

The Frenchman’s 2022–23 season has been marred by injuries, and he hasn’t played since Chelsea’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Tottenham just two games in.

Chelsea are considering Kante’s future as well as that of fellow midfielder Jorginho, whose contract is set to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Kante underwent surgery, which Chelsea confirmed in a statement posted on their website after weeks of rumors and setbacks in his attempts to recover from injury and play for the new manager Graham Potter.

“N’Golo Kante has undergone an operation on his hamstring injury.

“The midfielder visited a specialist with the club’s medical department to explore the options for his rehabilitation approach and it was mutually agreed for N’Golo to have surgery to repair the damage.

“Following a successful operation, N’Golo is now expected to be sidelined for four months.”

The 31-year-old will be sidelined for the remainder of the year and the first few months of 2023, confirming earlier concerns about whether or not he would be able to recover in time for the 2022 World Cup.
