Arsenal have offered Bukayo Saka a new long-term contract.

The offer would see him become one of the club’s best paid players, according to the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old’s current deal expires in the summer of 2024 and is reportedly a target for Manchester City.

But it is understood the Gunners have now formally offered the England international an extension worth at least double his current wages.

The report says there is currently no agreement, and it remains to be seen how Saka formally responds to the offer.

The 20-year-old was one of Mikel Arteta’s best performers last season, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in the Premier League.

City boss, Pep Guardiola, is keen on Saka and views him as the “dream replacement” for Raheem Sterling, who joined Chelsea earlier this month.

Arsenal have now taken steps to prevent City from making a move by offering Saka a new contract worth at least double his current £70,000-a-week deal.
