EPL: ‘Brave’ – Tim Sherwood names Man Utd player Ten Hag must not drop

Tim Sherwood warns Erik ten Hag against dropping Hannibal for either Mason Mount or Sofyan Amrabat

Former Tottenham midfielder, Tim Sherwood, has warned that Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, risks upsetting team morale.

He said the team would be upset if the Dutchman drops youngster, Hannibal Mejbri, from the XI again.

Hannibal made an eye-catching full debut for Manchester United in their Premier League slim win over Burnley at the weekend.

Following injuries to Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat, Hannibal was drafted into the first team by Ten Hag.

The midfielder scored Manchester United’s only goal in their 3-1 defeat to Brighton last weekend.

The Red Devils managed a 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday with Bruno Fernandes scoring the only goal

And while it was the Portuguese who received the man of the match award, former manager Sherwood felt that Mejbri was the best performer.

“A real positive from the performance when I look at the individual performances for Man Utd Hannibal I thought was good,” he told Premier League Productions

“He was brave, I thought he looked for the ball wherever he was.

“Out of possession he looked like he was going with urgency wherever he was to go and get it back.

“I think he had a great game and he can only get better, I just hope he stays in the team.

“He earned the right rather than one of the superstars coming back and getting in ahead of him, which is not good for team morale and team spirit.”
