Chelsea defender, Axel Disasi, has said that his defense partner, Ben Chilwell told him before their clash against Liverpool that he was going to score a goal in that game.
Chelsea and Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw in their season opener on Sunday afternoon with Disasi scoring for the Stamford Bridge landlords.
Chilwell also found the back of the net but his effort was disallowed after VAR review.
And while Liverpool also had a goal disallowed in the highly contested game, the game ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw of which both sides should be happy with.
Speaking after the game, Chilwell told Sky Sports, “First half an hour we weren’t really up to it, they were the better team.
“When the second goal went in and it was disallowed we got a bit of a boost and we started to play the football the manager wants.
“We did set pieces in training and he [Disasi] was putting them all away so I told him after he was going to score today!”
Disasi replied: “Chilly told me before the game I was going to score.
“It’s good for me, it’s good for the team and hopefully we have more goals in the future.”
