Chelsea have asked Brighton for permission to speak with their head coach, Graham Potter, as they begin the search for Thomas Tuchel’s replacement.
Tuchel was sacked on Wednesday morning after only six matches into the Premier League season.
The Blues will approach the Seagulls later on Wednesday for permission to speak to Potter, according to Sky Sports.
Chelsea are also keen to speak to Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane, who are both out of work.
Todd Boehly has sacked Tuchel just three months after completing his takeover of the club.
Boehly is still acting as sporting director following the exits of director Marina Granovskaia, chairman Bruce Buck and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech.
Chelsea sit sixth in the Premier League with 10 points.
