Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney will be taking up the coaching job at Birmingham City, KemiFilani understands.
The former England international would be replacing John Eustace who was sacked on Monday morning.
From all indications, Rooney, recently left his position as the manager at Major League Soccer side, DC United, will return to England to manage Birmingham.
Birmingham are currently sixth on the Sky Bet Championship table
The statement from the Championship side announcing John Eustace’s sack suggested that the manager lacks a winning mentality.
“With this in mind, Birmingham City has today parted company with Head Coach, John Eustace,” it added.
The club said they will announce their next manager in the coming days with Wayne Rooney in mind.
According to them, the new boss “will be responsible for creating an identity and clear ‘no fear’ playing style that all Birmingham City teams will adopt and embrace.”
