Tottenham is getting close to acquiring Udinese winger Destiny Udogie.
The 19-year-old will return to Udinese on loan until the end of the current campaign, becoming Spurs’ seventh signing of a busy summer transfer window.
Brighton wanted to sign him to a loan agreement after failing to reach an agreement on terms for a permanent deal, but Tottenham resisted their late interest, according to 90min.
However, Spurs’ willingness to loan him back to Udinese for the new season gave them the upper hand, and they are expected to pay the Serie A club around €25 million in total.
On Tuesday, Udogie will have a medical while Spurs and Udinese negotiate the specifics of the deal.
Pierpaolo Marino, the technical director of the Bianconeri, stated on Monday night that negotiations for Udogie were still ongoing: “There is a negotiation underway and talking about it when there is nothing official yet is very complicated.
“It’s nice that there is an important offer for Udogie, but Udinese only sells their players for the right amount and tends to keep them for two years. We will try not to deny these parameters.”
Udogie has been linked with a future call-up to Roberto Mancini’s Italy squad. He finished the 2021/22 Serie A season with five goals in 35 games.
