Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed that he intends to play for Manchester United once more this Sunday against Rayo Vallecano.
The forward, who has been granted time off for personal reasons, has missed every preseason game for the Red Devils so far, but he is also trying to arrange a transfer away from Old Trafford in order to play in the Champions League.
KFN had earlier reported that Ronaldo won’t be travelling with teammates to play Atletico Madrid in Norway on Saturday.
Ronaldo commented, “Sunday the king plays,” in response to a fan account posting Man Utd’s 21-man squad to face Atletico on Instagram.
Man Utd will host Rayo Vallecano the following afternoon at Old Trafford after playing Atletico on Saturday.
In order to prepare his team for their return to Premier League action the following week, Erik ten Hag, who has taken over as manager from Ralf Rangnick, will oversee his team’s home game.
The Red Devils open the new season against Brighton at home the following Sunday before travelling to Brentford in west London the following Saturday.
