RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku had a medical with Chelsea officials in August, but the Frenchman’s future transfer has not yet been decided.
Nkunku is one of several forwards on Chelsea’s radar, with new co-owner Todd Boehly eager to continue splashing the cash in order to provide manager Graham Potter with a squad capable of competing for Premier League and Champions League glory.
Nkunku has already undergone a medical at Chelsea, but sources close to the 24-year-old are adamant that no deal has been reached regarding a potential transfer, and there is no assurance at this time that a move will ever actually happen.
Chelsea has conducted medical tests to determine whether to pursue a transfer in 2023, when a £58 million release clause in his contract comes into play.
Importantly, sources on both sides of the negotiation stress that Chelsea and Nkunku have not reached an agreement on personal terms, and Blues sources add that the same is true of a transfer fee.
