Player Chidera Ejuke of the Super Eagles has transferred from CSKA Moscow to Hertha Berlin on loan.
On Wednesday, Hertha posted an announcement on its website regarding the acquisition of Ejuke.
The Nigerian claimed that he joined the team to increase their chances of winning championships.
“I’m looking forward to playing for Hertha, to the Bundesliga and this special challenge. I want to do my bit in helping the club achieve its goals,” said the 24-year-old after joining the ‘Old Lady’ from Moscow.
“Chidera has proven himself in several European leagues already, and brings good skills alongside speed and versatility. We’re sure that he’ll improve our game with his abilities,” Fredi Bobic said on the attacker’s arrival, who feels best on the left wing.
Since the summer of 2020, Nigerian international Ejuke has been playing football in Russia. In 65 competitive appearances, he has scored 10 goals and assisted on eight others.
The attacker has so far earned eight caps for the Super Eagles after his performances earned him a nomination for the senior Nigerian national team in October 2020.
The right-footed attacker had 29 games with 16 goal involvements for SC Heerenveen in the Eredivisie prior to his time in Russia.
Prior to that, between 2017 and 2019, Ejuke played for Vlerenga Fotball in Norway, where he made 69 appearances while tallying 15 goals and 6 assists.
The attacker transitioned to playing professional football in his native Nigeria, where he first played for Supreme Court FC before moving on to Gombe United.
