Chelsea vs Liverpool FA Cup final: Prediction, kick-off time, Nigerian TV, live stream, team news, and how to watch

The FA Cup final will be a repeat of the Carabao Cup for only the second time.

While it may not appear to be a particularly intriguing notion on paper, the manner in which Chelsea and Liverpool battled in Wembley’s dramatic February final does whet the appetite.

A 0-0 has rarely been so entertaining, and even in the Premier League, there hasn’t been much to separate the two sides all season.

Despite Liverpool’s comfortable advantage over Chelsea in the table, both encounters in that tournament have ended 2-2.

Although Jurgen Klopp’s ambitions to catch Manchester City have been thwarted in recent days, the German might still win all three cup competitions this season, and the fact that he has already defeated Chelsea in a knockout battle bodes well for his chances cannot be ignored.

Nonetheless, Thomas Tuchel’s team is a master of this kind of play. Chelsea have reached the final of every competition during his tenure, and it’s worth noting that despite a spotty league record, they overcame City in the Champions League final.

It’s going to be an exciting match between two of Europe’s most entertaining teams.

Chelsea vs Liverpool team news

Liverpool will be missing Fabinho when they face Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.

The Brazilian was forced off after 30 minutes of the Reds’ triumph against Aston Villa, sustaining a hamstring injury that Jurgen Klopp has confirmed will keep him out of the final this weekend.

Klopp has at least guaranteed that Fabinho will be fit for the Champions League final later this month, but it looks that Jordan Henderson will be the deepest of the three midfielders for the time being.

Chelsea are without Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi, but Tuchel has announced that Mateo Kovacic will play despite an ankle injury.

“Mateo wants to try it and the medical department gave the green light to try it,” he stated on Friday. “The ligament is anyway stretched from the last incident, so there’s no new injury but heavy pain, and it’s heavily swollen.”

Chelsea vs Liverpool prediction

This season, there hasn’t been much to separate these two sides, albeit Chelsea has appeared a lot less organized in key games of late. Liverpool might benefit from their firepower.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Mendy; Christensen, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kovacic, Jorginho, Alonso; Mount, Havertz, Werner.
