Chelsea is attempting to strengthen at left-back by acquiring Monaco’s Benoit Badiashile.
The 21-year-old France international is the Blues’ top candidate as they prioritize the acquisition of a new left-back. According to The Athletic, they are already in discussions with Monaco as they try to reach an agreement for the upcoming weeks.
The full-back, who graduated from Monaco’s youth academy and has made 135 appearances for the senior team in all competitions, is expected to cost Chelsea about €35 million (£31m/$37m).
The Stamford Bridge club has other targets besides Badiashile as well. According to reports, RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Evan N’Dika of Eintracht Frankfurt, and Piero Hincapie of Bayer Leverkusen were all observed. After coming to a personal understanding with the Croatian star, the Blues previously tried to sign Gvardiol over the summer but were unsuccessful in their negotiations with Leipzig.
The Blues’ Premier League season will resume when they play Bournemouth on December 27 before players can be added to Graham Potter’s roster.
