Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has said that it was written that his team would win the Champions League this season.
The Spaniard, however, admitted it was “difficult to win” against Italian giants, Inter Milan, who missed a several golden opportunites to equalise or even win the game.
Going into the game on Saturday, Guardiola’s side had already been crowned the Premier League and FA Cup champions and needed the Champions League to completed their historic Treble this season and thanks to a second half strike from Rodri.
Guardiola, who spoke to Speaking to BT Sport after the game, said it was already written in the Stars that his boys would lay their hands on the trophy this season.
“It was written in the stars” he said. It’s so difficult to win it. This competition is a coin.
“It was written in the stars. It belongs to us.
“We weren’t at our best level. After the World Cup the team made a step forward and we were there. It wasn’t our best performance,” he said. n
