Champions League: Harry Kane names only club he wanted to sign for this summer
Harry Kane says he was not interested in joining Manchester United or any other club apart from Bayern Munich
Former Tottenham striker, Harry Kane has said he never wanted to join Manchester United.
Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur last summer in a deal worth over €100m.
Kane is set to help Bayern Munich go far in this season’s Champions League campaign as they begin with a game against Manchester United on Wednesday.
There were speculations that the Red Devils wanted to sign the England international but he ended up joining Bayern Munich while Erik ten Hag settled for Rasmus Hojlund to lead their attack.
Speaking ahead of their group stage opener against the Premier League giants, Kane described United as a great club but insisted he wanted to join Bayern.
“To be honest over the summer I know there were some talks between a few clubs in the background, but Bayern were a team I was really interested in and excited by.
“So there weren’t too many other discussions, once they came up it was between them and Tottenham to talk and the deal got done.
“My focus is on here. Obviously Manchester United are a great club and a really big club as well, but I decided to come here and I’m really happy I have.”
