Champions League: Arsenal qualify for Round of 16, Man Utd on the brink

Arsenal have qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 as winners of Group B.

The Gunners thrashed Lens 6-0 at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s men needed only 13 minutes to open scoring against the Ligue 1 side who beat them 2-1 in the reverse fixture in October.

Kai Havertz (13) scored in his second successive game, before Gabriel Jesus (21) doubled. Bukayo Saka (23) bundled home the next, before a solo effort from Gabriel Martinelli (27).

Martin Odegaard struck a brilliant volley, before Jorginho put away a late penalty.

The result sees the Gunners through as Group B winners with 12 points, with PSV joining them in the knockout rounds.

Two Andre Onana errors and a thunderous strike from Kerem Akturkoglu on a stormy night in Istanbul left Manchester United’s Champions League hopes hanging by a thread as they twice blew two-goal advantages to draw 3-3 at Galatasaray.
