Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has apologised to his teammates after his blunder that led to their 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
The Cameroonian admitted that he let the Red Devils down, taking full responsibility.
Onana allowed Leroy Sane’s shot go underneath him and straight into the back of the net.
Other scorers for the Germans were Serge Gnabry, Harry Kane and Mathys Tel while Rasmus Hojlund Casemiro (2) scored for the visitors.
Onana said that it was his mistake that cost the Red Devils.
“It is difficult. We started very good but after my mistake we lost control of the game,” Onana told TNT Sport.
“It is frustrating for us, for me especially because I am the one who let the team down.
“The team was good, we didn’t win this game because of me. we have to move forward. this is what it is like as a goalkeeper.”
The Cameroon international said that Wednesday was one of his ‘worst games’ since moving to Old Trafford from Inter Milan.
“I have a lot to prove,” he said. My start in Manchester hasn’t been so good, not how I want. This was one of my worst games. We have big ambitions.
“It’s a tough time. We have to be together and work hard.”
