Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has described Casemiro as the ‘cement’ that keeps his whole side together.

This was after the Brazilian displayed a brilliant performance in United’s 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday at Old Trafford.

According to a statement on United’s website, “the former Real Madrid man has nailed down a starting position within Ten Hag’s team recently.

“Partnered with Christian Eriksen in the middle for the triumph, our no.18 could be seen both directing and dictating the play throughout, as we made it eight games unbeaten.”

Speaking about the player, Ten Hag said having him on the pitch helps to connect play.

”I call him the cement in the midfield,” he began in his post-match press conference.

”I think in and out of possesion, he makes such a difference and he gives the team [an] extra edge and helps them dominate.

”I say in and out of possession because he can dominate games and he gives the team [that] extra edge to help dominate in the game.
