Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has said he and the players must take responsibility for their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The fourth round tie at Old Trafford was a replay of last season’s final which United won 2-0.
However, goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock saw Ten Hag’s men exit the competition in the fourth round.
Ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports, said: “This is not good enough. We have to take responsibility for it – I have to take the responsibility for it.
“We don’t give the performance. I feel sorry for the fans.
“It’s below our standards and we have to put it right.”
