Cape Verde vs Nigeria, line up, where to watch, other updates
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will return to action on Tuesday 7th of September, when they take on Cape Verde in the ongoing 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
This is coming after they move to the top of Group C of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho first-half brace against Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium over the weekend.
The Super Eagles head the standings on three points after a round of matches following the 1-1 draw between Cape Verde and the Central African Republic in the opening game of the group Wednesday.
Nigerian players will be moving to Cape Verde for the first leg of the match with the hope of winning all points again. However, new reports have revealed that Nigerian players who play in the UK will not join the trip to Cape Verde.
According to the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, he confirmed that some of the players on his squad who play in the UK have departed for their respective clubs.
This is owing to the UK government’s strict regulations on Red List countries, and Cape Verde falls in that category.
Gernot Rohr will have to rely on the home base players to get the job don when they face Cape Verde on Tuesday.
