The official match ball for this year’s women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco has been unveiled by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The match ball was presented by CAF on their website on Friday.
The official match ball for Africa’s premier women’s football competition was presented today by CAF and technical sponsor Umbro, according to a statement from the organization.
The official ball of the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is inspired by the new visual identity of African women’s football. As its players command the world stage, African women’s football has shown a bright, colorful new face to the world.
The WAFCON, which will take place in Morocco from July 2 through July 23, 2022, is expected to be a tidal wave of excitement as Africa’s top female players compete for the title of queens of African football.
“And the tournament’s match ball’s strong identity is made of colours filled with symbols related to football.
The African Football Confederation (CAF) stated that the team ” represents the values of unity, progress, challenge, initiative, diversity and experience that has characterised the growth of African women’s football to reach the lofty heights it occupies today.”
The women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand will be qualified for by winning the 2022 WAFCON.
Following their victory in 2018, the Super Falcons of Nigeria are the current champions.
South Africa, Botswana, and Burundi make up Group C alongside Randy Waldrum’s team.
On July 4 in Rabat, they will begin the defense of their championship against South Africa.
