Gavi, a midfielder for Barcelona, was awarded the Kopa Trophy for his outstanding 2021–2022 campaign.
The 18-year-old had a fantastic debut season at Camp Nou, appearing in 47 games during his first year with the senior team.
For Barcelona, Gavi contributed two goals and six assists, particularly after Xavi was named head coach.
The midfielder has now received 12 caps for La Roja since making his unexpected Spain debut in October 2021.
Gavi ousted competition from nine final nominees to take home the award. The other contenders were Karim Adeyemi (Red Bull Salzburg/Borussia Dortmund), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax/Bayern Munich), Nuno Mendes (PSG), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich), Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) and Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkuen).
