France Football announced on Monday night that Martinez is the 2023 Yachine Trophy winner.

This is majorly because of his performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which he helped his country, Argentina to win.

Recall that the Ballon d’Or award was changed to not award players for past performances, but it was for past glory that Martinez emerged winner of the award.

It is still on the same measure that Lionel Messi will be handed his eighth Ballon d’Or tonight.
