The England & Wales Cricket Board has censured five players for past racist social media posts, including Azeem Rafiq and former Yorkshire coach Andrew Gale.
Rafiq previously expressed regret for an anti-Semitic Facebook conversation from 2011.
In response to a tweet from 2010, Yorkshire suspended Gale.
Additionally disciplined were Somerset’s Jack Brooks, Birmingham Phoenix’s Eve Jones, and England batter Danni Wyatt.
All five of the accused admitted guilt.
The racism scandal that has dogged English cricket for the better part of the last two years was brought on by accusations made by former Yorkshire spinner Rafiq, 31.
In November 2021, when his Facebook messages were discovered, he claimed to have “absolutely no excuses.”
Gale was one of 16 people whose employment was terminated by Yorkshire in December as a result of Rafiq’s allegations.
Earlier that month, he had been suspended due to the disputed tweet. He claimed to have been “completely unaware” of how offensive the term was at the time and immediately deleted the tweet after learning more.
Gale, 38, is being charged with additional offences by the ECB, but he has declared he will “not engage” in the disciplinary procedure.
Jack Brooks, a 38-year-old fast bowler for Somerset, was discovered to have deleted two tweets in November of last year after they were highlighted in a newspaper article.
A photo of Wyatt, 31, and Jones, 30, posing together was published on Instagram in 2013 and later removed after a citizen’s complaint in April 2021.
