Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has equalled Alexis Sanchez’s record at the club, following his goal in the 2-0 away win at Newcastle United on Sunday evening.
With his second-half strike against the Magpies, the African striker has now scored in all three of his matches against Steve Bruce’s men in the 2020-21 season.
He is the first Arsenal player to score in three different matches against an opponent in a single season since Sanchez versus Hull City in the 2014-15 campaign.
Additionally, the former Borussia Dortmund man has also scored in each of his last five appearances against Newcastle in all competitions, to become the first player from the North London side to score in five consecutive matches against the same team.
In the process, he is within touching distance of Olivier Giroud’s feat during his time at the Emirates Stadium.
Before joining Chelsea in 2018 for an undisclosed fee, the France international netted in six straight games against Aston Villa between 2013-2016.
