The three players who come out of Mikel Arteta’s starting line-up are all notably dropped rather than injured with Rob Holding, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli all on the bench.
The former two had a torrid time at the Etihad last week and a pair of January arrivals take their place, with Jakub Kiwior finally handed a first league start more than three months since joining.
Jorginho gets the nod over Partey in midfield against his former team, while Leandro Trossard is preferred to Martinelli, in what is already his eighth league start since his own winter move from Brighton.
Only two changes for Chelsea tonight, but more significantly than that, there’s a change in shape from Frank Lampard at the Emirates.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes a first start since November against a side where he spent four years, with Noni Madueke also joining him in the front three.
Nathaniel Chalobah and Conor Gallagher are the two to drop out.
