Ghana's star Nketiah

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah tied club legend Nwankwo Kanu’s record with a brace in the opening 10 minutes of the Gunners’ 2-1 Premier League win over Leeds United on Sunday.

Nketiah scored twice as Arsenal defeated Leeds United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

According to OptaJoe, Nketiah’s brace ties Kanu’s club record, making him the second Arsenal player in history to score two goals in the opening ten minutes of a Premier League match.

KemiFilani reports that Kanu scored in the third and ninth minute as the Gunners defeated Sunderland 3-1 at Highbury on October 6, 2002.

The Nigerian legend poked the ball in from two yards out to put Arsenal ahead.

The two-time Premier League champion then extended his lead by heading in an assist from Ashley Cole.

Meanwhile, Nketiah will want to maintain his strong play for Arsenal when they face Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Arsenal is presently fourth in the Premier League rankings, four points ahead of fifth-place Tottenham.
