Alexander-Arnold to miss six Liverpool matches

Liverpool have been rocked by news that defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will be out for a month after sustaining a calf injury in the side’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Sunday.

The defender broke down after sprinting back to defend a City counter-attack and Jurgen Klopp hit out at the Premier League’s refusal to allow five substitutes after the match, citing it as a reason for an unprecedented amount of muscle injuries.

Though the Premier League will not renew for another fortnight due to the international break, Alexander-Arnold stands to miss as much as six matches given the congested fixture list, report the Daily Mail.

Liverpool face Leicester City, Atalanta and Brighton in the first seven days after the break before taking on Ajax and Wolves in early December.

The Reds then travel to Denmark to take on Midtjylland on the 9th December – at the very end of the defender’s month-absence.

Alexander-Arnold is likely to target an away trip to Fulham three days later and Klopp will be desperate to get some faces back over the international break.
