Nigeria will be without free-scoring Gift Orban when they host Sao Tome and Principe in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday, due to injury.

The KAA Gent forward sat out the Super Eagles’ last training session on Thursday night.

It is believed he sustained an injury in the team’s previous training session on Friday.

The 21-year-old was expected to make his debut for the Super Eagles against the True Patriots.

The young striker will now have to wait for his maiden appearance for the three-time African champions.

The other new invitees Victor Boniface and Jordan Torunarigha are in line to make their debut against Adriano Eusebio’s side.
