The Super Eagles will be without Alhassan Yusuf for their second 2023 Africa Cup of Nations fixture against Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday.
Yusuf suffered a thigh injury during their first game against Equatorial Guinea.
The Royal Antwerp midfielder was replaced by Southampton midfielder Joe Aribo on 68 minutes.
“Yusuf is out of the game against against Cote d’Ivoire. We hope he will be able to play the next game against Guinea-Bissau,” Peseiro told a press conference on Wednesday.
“The good thing is that it is not a serious injury. He did the test yesterday and it was not something serious.”
The 23-year-old is expected to be replaced in the starting line-up by Aribo or Kelechi Iheanacho.
