The Super Eagles have promised to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations for President Bola Tinubu.
This comes as the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, attributed the their quarter-final win to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, speaking with NAN in Abidjan on Saturday, thanked the president for his support, emphasizing the President’s commitment to sports development, particularly football.
Following a 1-0 victory over Angola, secured by Ademola Lookman’s goal assisted by Moses Simon, Gusau praised Tinubu’s motivational words to the team.
He noted that the President’s support for the team showed how committed he is to sports development, especially football.
He said, “You heard what he said. He said, ‘Boys go there, believe in me.
‘You don’t have any problem and whatever issues you are facing, just believe in me. Go and do the job and you’ll see the result.’
“That’s exactly what he told them; you can see them doing the job.
“By the grace of God, I know he is going to reward them handsomely, which has never happened before in the history of Nigeria.
“We promised him that we were going to give him the trophy, and by the grace of God, we are going to do just that.”
