Prior to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone’s training base in Conakry, Guinea, has welcomed five foreign-based players.
One of the five players is Mohamed Buya Turay, who is joined by Augustus Kargbo and Amadou Bakayoko.
The two others are Kwame Queen and John Kamara.
Twelve of the 25 players who were invited have arrived in Conakry.
Ibrahim Sessay, Donald Kamara, Saidu Mansaray, Musa Noah Camara, Lamin Conteh, and Saidu Bah Kamara were among those who participated in the team’s first training session on Wednesday.
Steve Caulker, Anderlecht’s Mustapha Bundu, and Ibrahim Sillah are expected to join the team on Thursday.
On Thursday, June 9, the Leone Stars will face the Super Eagles in Abuja’s Moshood Abiola Stadium.
Four days later, John Keister’s team will face Guinea-Bissau at the General Lasana Conte Stadium in Conakry in a matchday two match.
