Deji Adeyanju, a sociopolitical commentator, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should pick Youth Minister that is less than 35 years old.

Adeyanju disclosed this on Sunday night while hailing Tinubu for reshuffling the ministerial portfolio.

Tinubu had appointed Abubakar Momoh as the Minister of Youths but was redeployed to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

Momoh was redeployed from outcry by Nigerians who pointed out that he was not a youth.

Reacting, the Abuja- based activist noted that appointing older men as youth Ministers is annoying.

“I commend President Bola Tinubu for removing the 64yr old Minister of Youth & redeploying him elsewhere.

“It shows he is not tone-deaf to criticism like Buhari. The president should now appoint a YOUNG person as the minister of youth.

“The minister of youth should be someone less than 35, not any old man or woman.

“It is extremely annoying to see old men like me as ministers for youth. Nobody, even in my age bracket, should be called a youth”, he wrote.
