Supreme Court affirms Tambuwal as governor of Sokoto

The election that saw the swearing in of Aminu Tambuwal as governor of Sokoto State has been upheld by the Supreme Court.

The apex court struck out the appeal brought by Ahmed Aliyu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, against the election of that held March 9, 2019.

According to Justice Abba Aji who delivered the judgment, the appeal lacked merit as the complainant couldn’t prove his case of over-voting and non-compliance with the electoral law he claims took place during the election.
